Les created the float for the 1988 Moomba parade. It led the parade pulled by a car that Les drove (without a licence) behind a police escort. The banner was designed and painted by Megan Evans with sign writing by Tony ?

This banner was carried in two demonstrations on Australia day in 1988 in protest at the bicentennial celebrations. In this photo it is being painted at La Peruse by Sandra Onus and Megan Evans, however Les also painted on it. Photograph by Les Griggs

There are many photos of Les that dont appear here but these represent a period of his life when he was free from incarceration. He married Megan Evans in 1987 and remained married to her until he died in 1993. Many of these photographs were taken during this time. Unless otherwise stated all photographs were taken by Megan Evans
